Have you filled out your census form yet? Which bubbles are you filling in? If you a Taiwanese American, the answer may not be so obvious. I blogged about the Taiwanese write-in campaign for the 2010 U.S. Census a few weeks ago.
Now, the story’s caught on with the mainstream media, and is featured on the front page of today’s San Jose Mercury News in an article by Joe Rodriguez. You can read the story by clicking here.
U.C. Berkeley PhD student and Taiwanese Census advocate Naomi Hsu and Formosa Betrayed actor Adam Wang are also quoted in today’s article.
And if you consider yourself Taiwanese, and don’t know see the your ethnicity offered as one of the choices, please check off “Other Asian” and write in Taiwanese. No matter what your race, remember that if you are or your children are mixed race, check off as many boxes as apply.
