Did you know March 8 is International Women’s Day? The event has been celebrated for more than 100 years to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women.
I recently had the privilege of interviewing one of the world’s leading women’s healthcare advocates, Yvette Mulongo, who works in her home country of the Democratic Republic of Congo — where rape, death during childbirth and other medical conditions are still commonplace. Yvette was in San Francisco to receive an award from the Americans for UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund).
