I have lots of thoughts that I’m still trying to sort out about that gag with the three little Asian kids onstage at the Oscars… as well as the continuing fallout on Twitter afterwards. Until I gather those ideas into a coherent form, check out my reaction to Chris Rock’s stunt over at Mom.me.
The White run Oscars, pushing Black and Latino people down by perpetuating the model minority myth.
I have so many more thoughts about all of this and how these tropes are working together to pit different racial groups against each other, including the message that Asian Americans should not complain about being considered “good at math”.
