Looking for a fun multicultural and bilingual family show for the holidays? The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto will be hosting multimedia and multilingual productions of the wintertime favorite Peter and the Wolf. In addition to ballet and symphony, these special performances will be narrated in English, Hebrew, Russian and Mandarin Chinese. The performances are led by San Francisco Ballet Conductor Ming Luke. As with the Oshman Family JCC’s production of Hansel and Gretel, the addition of Mandarin performances reflects the community’s increasing numbers of mixed-race families.
Also, there will be a carnival in between shows, including pony rides, a bounce house, and an instrument “petting zoo” for kids to get a feel for music.
